Marta Santamaria, is CEO and Owner of The Venue, The Ridge, and The Planning in Asheville, NC. A native of Colombia, South America, Marta moved to the states over 30 years ago. With a background in Business and Hospitality Management, Marta’s entrepreneurial instinct and determination laid the foundation of her path to success.

Marta started her business ventures by opening The Bier Garden, with her then business partner. The Bier Garden is one of the most well-known and beloved restaurants in downtown Asheville, and is a destination bar and restaurant for locals and visitors alike with the largest beer selection in WNC.

After a few years of managing The Bier Garden, Marta started her own endeavors with The Venue, The Venue Catering, The Ridge, and finally, The Planning.

In recent years, Marta has been nominated for the WomanUP “Woman Entrepreneur: Best In Business,” and winner of the Asheville Chamber of Commerce “Small Business Leader of the Year.”
