Talking Points from Michael Evangel
on Ways to Combat COVID-19:

The COVID-19 Pandemic is an unprecedented event in human history. It reminds me of the classic sci-fi movie The Day the Earth Stood Still because that’s what feels like is happening.

There is no playbook to refer to in this situation, since all of humanity has never been in a shutdown mode. Many people are referring to this as a war against an invisible enemy and that is exactly what it is. There are two strategies during war, offense and defense.

Defense

The defense of this war is the avoidance of the virus. This is mostly accomplished through social distancing, hand washing, disinfecting, not touching your face and wearing masks. Unfortunately, wearing masks is not being emphasized in the United States enough, and that should change. The countries that advocate or require masks have done well in flattening the curve.

offense

The offense is dealing with the virus if exposed. The fear that many people are having is that there are currently no FDA cleared drugs or vaccines for this purpose. There is currently a lot of experimentation going on with existing drugs, which may be risky. There are reports that ibuprofen worsens a patient’s condition. Bolstering the immune system, however, is a sound strategy without a downside.

The stress and the fear that many people are experiencing plummets immunity. Clearing the shelves in supermarkets and hoarding provisions have become the norm. Estimates indicate that 80–85% of the population may have little or no symptoms if they contract COVID-19. This is good, but it is also bad because people with no symptoms can spread the virus without even being ill! The elderly and individuals with compromised immunity are at the greatest risk. Therefore, social distancing and wearing masks are vital.
The good news is that COVID-19 has a fragile lipid (fatty) envelope and is readily killed by plain soap and water and over the counter disinfectants.

supplements

Some great supplements to boost immunity are zinc, echinacea, vitamin C, vitamin D3, and Beta 1,3D glucan. Consult your healthcare professional and pharmacist before starting any supplements. You want to make sure that there are no contraindications to any condition that you may have or any medication that you may be taking.

Other tactics

Other smart strategies are to get plenty of sleep, exercise, avoid fast food, junk food and sugar. In addition, eat plenty of colorful vegetables and low sugar fruits. Studies have shown that chiropractic care and other holistic treatments can also boost the immune system and reduce stress too!

People don’t reach their maximum health potential because of a combination of excesses and deficiencies. Increasing your deficiencies and cutting down on your excesses will go a long way to improving your health. Also, work on staying positive by doing what you can to prevent exposure to the virus, but try to stop yourself from falling into a panic mode. If you can do all of that, you will greatly increase your chances of staying healthy through this uneasy time.
