Testing and Stopping the Spread of COVID

Widespread testing for COVID is one of the most pivotal measures that must be taken in order to isolate those who are capable of spreading the infection and to flatten the curve. Germany and South Korea were able to limit the spread of COVID due to early and extensive testing that resulted in strict isolation of those who were infectious. This has resulted in less than 10,000 deaths in Germany (population 83 million) and less than 500 deaths in South Korea (population 52 million). Compare this to 179,000 deaths in the US (population 330 million).
