What Dr. Secor Can Say in an Interview on
Weight Loss Tips for Senior Citizens:
Reaching or keeping an ideal weight well into our golden years is possible when we combine proper nutrition and specialized exercise.

    • Combine exercise and a healthy eating plan. Generally, exercise contributes minimally to weight loss. That is why both are so important. Recording all food ingested is also very helpful because as we get older, precision in calories consumed versus calories expended becomes more critical.
    • Exercise that can burn more calories includes high-intensity interval training (HIIT), and/or weightlifting.
    • Exercise, like weightlifting, that targets increasing muscle mass can be helpful for weight loss because the increased muscle mass increases metabolism. This can lead to higher metabolism and greater weight loss while consuming the same calories.
