Why would someone want to do a detox? There are many reasons,
however, weight loss and health problems are the main reasons.

A good detoxification program allows your body and mind to recover from the toxins accumulated from everyday living. Our food, air, and water are
tainted with chemicals and pollutants.

  • Hydration: water is necessary for ensuring a successful cleanse
  • Drinking filtered or spring water with a high pH is best
  • Drink half your body weight in ounces
  • Rest: most people require 7-8 hours of sleep. Sleep decreases stress, which decrease cravings for carbs
  • Exercise: helps reduce toxins, accelerates weight loss, increases energy,
    and improves mood

Detoxification programs should be tailored to the patient’s individual
needs. For instance, a fifty-year-old, 250-pound male with diabetes, cancer, or auto-immune disease on medication vs. a 20-year-old, 120-pound female without any health conditions and not on medication approach should obviously be different.
