What Dr. Alice Fong can say in an interview
on the Benefits of Using Clubhouse
:

Have you heard of the latest social media application (app) called Clubhouse? A doctor friend of mine was raving about it, so I joined a couple of months ago to see what all the fuss was about.

So, what is it? It’s an app that allows people to host and join audio conversations with other users. There are a plethora of clubs and topics to choose from and tons of experts to learn from. I like that I can talk and listen with people from the comfort of my cozy bed, without having to dress up or look nice.

Initially, I did have resistance in joining. I thought, Oh, another social media app! I’m already on so many, it will be more headache for me to manage another one. However, I soon realized that it’s an app that resonated with me and my preferred style of connecting with people . . . authentic conversations. Given that it’s an audio-only app, there is less of a superficial feel to it because we’re not focused on pretty, perfect pictures of ourselves. It’s about talking to real people in real-time about anything that matters to you.

If you’re not feeling the vibe of a “room,” you can leave quietly and find a room that is a better fit or create your own room—or even your own club—to discuss with other people the topics you’d like to talk about.

It’s also a great way for entrepreneurs to brand themselves and position themselves as experts. When you host a room the audience gets to know you based on your bio and speaking personality, which helps to develop trust.

So far, it’s been a positive experience! This app could be really beneficial in these challenging times, where many people are feeling less connected. So many professionals have been experiencing stress overload for over a year and this is not healthy and can lead to a host of health issues.  This app gives people the opportunity to connect and talk with people all over the world with similar interests.
