Marketing Tips & Tricks: How to Profit Big in the Digital World

This story idea is focused on digital marketing tips but Geeta Nadkarni can talk about other issues relating to the gig economy, making money online, and becoming a paid expert. She is the founder of of: babygotbooked.com and impactwithinfluence.com

    • Ask the right questions. It will often save you tens of thousands of dollars and years of busy work because you will end up fixing the right problem. It is all but impossible to do this for oneself in the same way that giving yourself a back massage is ineffective. By hiring the right coach or mentor (someone who has a track record and is able to CUSTOMIZE the process so it fits you instead of the other way around), not only will you shortcut your process, you will be able to become a channel for the same sorts of transformations for your own clients.
    • Messaging. If your marketing isn’t working, it might be your MESSAGING that’s broken: I’m always surprised how often folks jump straight to the “tactics” of the “funnel-building” without asking some very critical questions first. If you’re marketing your butt off and not actually closing sales at premium prices with clients who freaking ADORE you, chances are your messaging is attracting the wrong clients. And there are many reasons for this, but here are the top three: (1) a lack of clarity, not just in who your ideal client is (most entrepreneurs THINK they know but they really don’t), (2) lack of clarity about what they REALLY want (not just what they say they want or what everyone else is selling) and (3) messages that confuse or complicate the selling process. KEEP IT SIMPLE. It’s less work, more fulfilling and can bring in a LOT more money.
    • Create transformational content. If you’re doing what everyone else is doing and giving your best stuff away for free, you’re basically doing the digital marketing equivalent of riding a cactus naked while rubbing chili peppers in your eyes! It’s painful and counterproductive. You’re training your audience to feel overwhelmed. To bookmark your stuff but never really act on it. To sign up for your lead magnet but not actually open it. To eventually stop opening your emails and unsubscribe.
